Functional Properties
HPV16 infection is one of the important risk factors of cervical cancer. HPV16 E6 and E7 genes inhibit cell apoptosis, enhance cell proliferation and participate in malignant transformation of cervical cancer. HPV16 E6 and E7 genes play an important role in the process of multi-gene, multi-step and multi-evolution of cervical cancer.
When infected by HPV16 virus, If immune system is normal, CD8+ T cells can be induced to proliferate and produce antigen specific CD8+ CTL, which can kill the target cells infected by HPV16 directly, playing a role in the immune response of anti-viral t cells.
We have developed a new technique, Recombinant Overlapping peptides, to stimulate and monitor the immune response of CD8+ and CD4+ T cells.
